This course is an international continuing education program designed to provide comprehensive training on every aspect of aesthetic and contemporary restorative dentistry.
The postgraduate diploma is intended to define a level of competence consistent with that of an experienced clinician. The objective of the program is to provide dentists with a scientific rationale for all decisions regarding diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient care. The course is designed to deliver advanced evidence-based foundational knowledge in modern aesthetic and restorative dentistry and to refine practical skills. This includes aesthetic dental techniques, adhesive procedures, as well as the dental materials used across all aspects of aesthetics, contemporary restorative dentistry, as well as Botox and the use of dermal fillers for intra- and peri-oral tissues. Emphasis is placed on integrating this training program into each participant's ongoing dental practice and on the future benefits for dental patients. The course is composed of six two-day modules held in the host country. Course components include theoretical didactic and clinical knowledge applied to adhesive techniques across all aspects of restorative dentistry.
The didactic format will include lectures, laboratory time, video literature review, and intensive hands-on practice. The training program covers topics such as treatment planning and smile design, the use of the articulator and training on other instruments such as the dental laser, ceramic veneers, posterior ceramic restorations, aesthetic metal ceramics, all-ceramic systems, computer-generated ceramic restorations, composites (direct and indirect restorations), anatomical layering technique for anterior and posterior dentition, as well as the science of contemporary aesthetic materials. Training also includes the application of Botox and dermal fillers.
Teaching staff are selected from members of the University of Genoa and accredited international specialists in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. The international training program is led by Professor Stefano Benedicenti and coordinated by Professor ac Antonio Signore. Successful completion of the course and the final examination is rewarded with a certificate:
"Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry".
and an academic transcript legalized by the Italian government providing 10 ECTS (250 credit hours including 72 hours of theoretical and practical lectures, 153 hours of individual study, and 25 hours of thesis preparation).
