This course is an international continuing education program on the use of lasers as a complementary therapy to clinical dental surgery and medicine.
This course will define a level of competence corresponding to an experienced laser user.
The course is designed to provide foundational, evidence-based knowledge on the use of lasers in dentistry and to refine practical skills.
The emphasis is on integrating this training program into the ongoing dental practice of each participant and on the future benefits of laser use for dental patients.
The course components include theoretical and clinical didactic knowledge applied to the use of lasers in all aspects of dental surgery and medicine.
Additional aspects will include the practical use of lasers and the preparation of clinical case presentations.
The teaching faculty is selected from members of the University of Genoa and internationally accredited specialists in laser dentistry.
Successful completion of the course and final examination will be acknowledged by the award of a certificate: "Diploma in Laser Dentistry" and a transcript legalized by the Italian government providing 10 ECTS (250 credit hours, with 72 hours of theoretical and practical lectures, 153 hours of individual study, and 25 hours of thesis preparation).
